Info for Leaders
Important Dates
- February 5 – Ward AP Camp Director designated
- March 12 – Registration due to Ward AP Camp Director; Fees due to Bishopric member
- June 14 (TBD) – AP Camp Health Screening
- June 15–17 – AARONIC PRIESTHOOD CAMP
Registration
- Registration is due March 12th, 2023
- Young Men should fill out online registration, in addition to printed forms (attached to envelopes AND printable at the website):
- Online registration
- Printed Parental Permission and Medical Release Form
- Printed Medical History and Immunizations Form
Ward AP Camp Director
- Each ward is asked to provide a male Ward AP Camp Director
- It is preferred he have a Young Men calling
- Responsibilities
- Encourage all young men in the ward to attend AP Camp
- As Director, attend camp for the duration
- Oversee ward camp registration and turn in registration forms (a suggestion is to hold a meeting with parents to collect all forms at the same time)
- Ensure camp fees are submitted to Ward Clerk
- Assist young men with questions about what to pack/bring

- Plan and manage Ward Time each evening
- Coordinate Bishop’s Night for your ward
- Coordinate transportation to/from camp
- Coordinate Health Screening process for your ward (more info coming)
Ward Male Adult Leaders
- Each ward is asked to provide three (3) male Adult Leaders
- It is preferred these leaders have a Young Men calling
- The Ward AP Camp Director may also serve as one of the 3 Adult Leaders
- Responsibilities
- Attend AP Camp for the duration
- Accompany/walk with ward young men throughout all activities and events of camp (they cannot hang out in the yurt/tent/dining/stage area while young men are at other activities)
- Minister to young men as needed
- Ward Male Adult Leaders must be separate from any ward leader who supports designated camp activities (class instructor, kitchen staff, nurse, challenge course staff, etc.)
Ward AP Camp Director and Male Adult Leaders
- Registration
- Fill out registration online
- Submit the printed Medical History and Immunizations Form
- All adult leaders must complete the Youth Protection Training within the last three (3) years.
- California law now requires Church members who work with minors for at least 32 hours per year to undergo a criminal background check (Live Scan). All adult leaders must complete Live Scan through the church prior to the start date of camp. Even if you have undergone a background check in the past for other volunteer efforts outside of church, you will need to complete another one since this information is not shared between organizations.
